Newton Little League Senior League Division (ages 13-15) serves ALL NEWTON RESIDENTS!

Newton Little League (ages 4-12) serves players who reside within or attend private or public schools within the boundaries of Ward, Underwood, Lincoln Eliot, Horace Mann, Peirce, Cabot, Burr, Franklin, Williams and Day or Bigelow Middle Schools.

Children who attend one of these schools but live out of the district may participate in NLL's program under Little League's rules without a waiver.

For all 2023 programs, the child's age is based on their age on 08/31/2023.

Games are typically played two to three times per week, Sunday through Saturday. Weekend games will be played mostly on Sundays for all levels unless Saturdays are requested by certain teams. Makeup games may occur on any day. Practices are held at the coaches' discretion. Summer games are played during the week only.

All registrations are submitted online. Please select the proper link below to register a Player or a Coach/Volunteer for one of our programs (Spring, Summer, or Fall).

SCHOLARSHIPS: Newton Little League maintains a Scholarship Fund to aid families facing economic hardship. It is the policy of NLL that no child should be denied the opportunity to play baseball due to a family's financial situation. The application process is a simple one; all that needs to be done is to send a request to our Treasurer/Player Agent at . This letter is only reviewed by our Treasurer/Player Agent and does not require financial documentation. Newton Little League is sensitive to both family needs and privacy.

2023 Spring Senior League Baseball Division

Little League Ages 13-15

For this Spring, NLL will offer a Senior League Baseball Division and is open to: ALL NEWTON RESIDENTS.

Our Spring program will begin in April and end in June. Additional details about team format, clinics, games, and practices will be published on the Senior League Division web page as the season nears.

2023 Spring Minors AAA

Grades 3-6:

This division is a more advanced league for players who have demonstrated a greater proficiency with baseball fundamentals. There is a continual emphasis on building and developing further baseball skills in a competitive environment. Players pitch, scores and standings are kept, and base stealing (to second and third base only) and bunts are permitted. Little League age 12 players may play in this division by waiver only.

2023 Spring Minors AA

Grades 3-5:

This division is a developmental league and coaches are expected to emphasize having fun while teaching players fundamental baseball skills. Players pitch, scores and standings are kept, bunting is allowed, and limited base stealing (second base only) is permitted. Games will be competitive, but coaches should utilize game situations to teach correct situational play and decision-making. Players will play a variety of positions.

2023 Spring Single A

Grade 2:

Based on prior feedback, we have established a Single A division that will be similar to the Farm division while incorporating more of the rules of baseball played in the older divisions. We will introduce kid pitch at some point in the season. We think this will be a good bridge for kids that are more advanced than Farm but not quite ready for AA.

Expect 2-3 events per week, including one weekend game and one weekday game.

2023 Spring Farm

Grade 1:

The Farm division is focused on instruction and developing players and their skills. Registration is open to players league aged 6-8, and typically includes 1st graders and 2nd graders who are new to baseball or require more time to master the basics. (Note: League age for Spring 2023 is defined as how old the player is on or before 8/31/2023. Other second graders may register for Single A.)

Teams of 10-12 players are typically formed by placing friends and classmates together. Expect 2-3 events per week, including one weekend game and one weekday game.

2023 Spring Rookie

Kindergarten:

The goal of Rookie division is to provide an introductory, skill-based baseball experience for Kindergarten-aged players. Participants will learn, review and practice the fundamentals of throwing, fielding and batting with an emphais on having FUN.

Teams will be 7-9 players with friends and classmates playing together. Expect 1-2 events per week, including a weeknight practice and a game on Sunday.

2023 Spring T-Ball

Pre-K:

As the first level of organized baseball, the emphasis of T-Ball is on FUN. Play is off a tee with a soft safety baseball. Everyone bats and everyone plays the field.

Small teams of 7-9 players are formed by placing friends and classmates together as much as possible. Expect 1-2 events per week, including a weeknight practice and a game on Sunday. Players end their season in mid-June with a special trophy day event.

T-Ball is for players who are league age 4-5. League age for Spring of 2023 is defined as how old the player is on or before 8/31/2023. Generally, all players in Pre-K for the 2022-2023 school year should be registered for T-Ball.

2023 Coach and Volunteer Registration

Registration for managers/coaches/umpires/volunteers for Newton Little League Baseball Spring & Fall 2023 program.

Please note: You must have your date of birth entered in your personal information to register as a coach. If the site shows that you are ineligible, please go to "Edit My Account" and add your birthday and try again.

After registering you will receive a confirmation email.

In addition to the background check, Little League International requires that we secure a copy of your driver's license.

Please email a copy to Manny Govignon, the League Safety Officer.

No volunteer will be authorized to have contact with any children until they have fully complied with these requirements. This is a Little League safety requirement and no exceptions will be made.

Minors who are assisting must register as well.
